Due to popular demand, Canada began minting the Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf in 1988. All of the Canadian Maple Leaf Coins bear the same simple yet elegant design, the bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a single Canadian maple leaf (the national symbol of Canada) on the reverse.
